How to Properly Try Running Form Cues:

❌DON’T just see a form cue on social media and go try it.

✅You need to film yourself with your “normal” form and then trying the form cue.

Doing this is going to tell you if the cue actually helps you or hurts you. Sometimes form cues make one thing better and something else a lot worse, like going from having a hip drop to over-striding. On the other hand, if you can visually see that a cue improves your form, you’re going to be way more motivated to stick with it.

If you think your form may need to change because of an injury or something feels off, it can be helpful to work with a trained gait analyst. Sometimes certain mobility and strength exercises need to be implemented as well to support the form change and ensure another injury doesn’t happen from suddenly increasing the workload of another body part.
