We are joined by 2 time Olympian and Oceania record holder in the marathon, Brett Robinson.
Brett started running seriously as a junior and has been making world teams since his teens when he was a track athlete. He then worked his way up to the marathon distance and in 2022 broke the Australian record at the Fukuoka International Marathon of 2:07:31. This wasn't without setbacks, as Brett talks about overcoming struggles he faced with getting stitches in prior races. He also shares what has kept him enjoying the sport for so long.
Rose had this chat with Brett in Font Romeu, where he is preparing for his third Olympics in Paris this summer. He talks about how he qualified for the Australian team and why he is out in Font Romeu to train.

Steve Moneghetti is still a household name throughout most of Australia. Along with De'Castella, he is without a doubt one of Australia's most recognisable runners.
With world champs bronze and Commonwealth Games gold medals donning his trophy cabinet, and with a 2:08.16 PB, Mona was the elite of the elite in the 90’s and would still be one of Australia’s best today.
At 61 years of age, Mona still runs, and pretty fast too. Last year he pumped out a 33-minute road 10km at 60.
We caught up with Mona to discuss not just the old days, but what is happening now, how he still manages to run so fast as a masters athlete, and also his thoughts on a range of things, from Gen Gregson, Pat Tiernan and Brett Robinson to super shoes and Kelvin Kiptum.

Just as we did with "The Gold Coast Diaries" we are releasing the first episode of "Chasing Paris" across our main network. To hear all remaining episodes you'll need to be a Patreon supporter of FTK. Welcome to the first episode of our new Patreon only series, Chasing Paris. Episode 1 is a great introduction to what Andy Buchanan and Gen Gregson have been up to over the last few months - Gen has bounced back from Gold Coast Marathon exceptionally well, while Andy has been focused on training and grinding our races in AV XCR. Gen tells us what she might do differently in this marathon build, and Andy shares some travel plans with our own Brett Robinson (cute). There are a few race announcements relating to other athletes that we maybe weren't meant to share, and the show closes with Andy explaining his love for the jelly slice (listeners encouraged to send their jelly slice in for judging - if they dare).

For those of you new; Pillar Peformance is a sports micronutrition company, who have developed products that intersect between pharmaceutical intervention & sports supplements for athletes. The easiest way to describe it is, hydration and fueling products will take you through to the finish line. PILLAR will get you to the start line, in your best condition, over and over again. The Triple Magnesium is my personal favourite. Like many pro runners such as, Brett Robinson, Charlotte Purdue, Sam Parsons and members of the OAC (George Mills, Tom Elmer). Pillar Peformance has changed the game for my sleep and recovery scores on my Garmin. The product is the brainchild of world renowned ‘father of HRV research’ Dr Dan Plews, and incorporates a leading dose of Magnesium Glycinate. The real kicker though, is how delicious it is!
