We are keeping the fourth-anniversary party going a wee bit longer so that we can relisten to one of the most downloaded and one of my favourite episodes to date. This episode was originally recorded in 2020 during lockdown when Gabriela DeBues Stafford and her younger sister Lucia Stafford were quaratined with their family in Ontario. I was so lucky to catch them together at the same time and reflect on life and training in and out of lockdown.
These multi-record-holding sisters have been very busy getting things done since this interview, including attending the 2020 Tokyo Olympics together in the 1500m. I love how they share such a bond and a love for each other, both in the sport and out of it. I hope you enjoy this relisten as much as I did!

On this week's show, we discuss Yared Nuguse and Woody Kincaid electrifying the Boston University track by breaking the American indoor records in the 3000m and 5000m, respectively. Alicia Monson delivered following her viral workout video by winning the Dr. Sander Invitational women's mile in 4:23.55. Katelyn Tuohy broke the NCAA indoor mile record behind her in 4:24.26. Ajee Wilson extended her Armory winning streak with a victory in the women's 1000m. (The North American record fell in Boston at the hands of Canada's Lucia Stafford in 2:33.75) Keely Hodgkinson ran 1:23.41 for the 600m indoor world record.

Gabriela DeBues Stafford and I like to talk and we hadn’t caught up since she returned to Canada from Scotland at the start of the pandemic so we had a lot of ground to cover. But we managed to focus and we dug in hard to the Olympics. Gabriela talks about what it was like to attend the Olympics with her sister Lucia Stafford, how her races went out tactically, and how she is a wholly different human than she was in Rio.
A quick episode to talk about the year that was with highlights from Malindi Elmore, Natasha Wodak, Gabriela DeBues-Stafford, Lucia Stafford, and Filsan Abdiaman. I also answer a couple of listener questions and discuss show goals for 2021.
It's sister day on the podcast! Canadian record holders Gabriela DeBues Stafford and her younger sister Lucia Stafford join us from quarantine for the ultimate running family chat. Get ready to laugh and learn a little more about these two amazing women, including which one owns more shoes.
