Grand Slam Track: Kingston - Gabby Thomas Breaksdown Her 49.14 400m PB To Win $100,000 In Jamaica
Video

The final race of Saturday's action delivered everything — Olympic gold vs. Olympic gold, a fantasy matchup made possible by Grand Slam Track. It was supposed to be a showdown between Gabby Thomas, the Olympic 200m champion, and Marileidy Paulino, the Olympic 400m champion. But Salwa Eid Naser had other plans. The 2024 Olympic silver medalist blew the field away in 48.67 — an eye-popping time for April and a massive upset, as Paulino hadn’t lost a 400m since July 2023. Behind her, Thomas and Paulino battled for second, but it was Thomas who outlasted the Dominican star, clocking 49.14 to Paulino’s 49.35. Despite finishing second in the race, Thomas secured the $100,000 Slam Champion title in the Women’s Long Sprints category thanks to her 200m win the day before and the runner-up finish in the 400m. 📈 Top Results 🥇 Salwa Eid Naser – 48.67 🥈 Gabby Thomas – 49.14 🥉 Marileidy Paulino – 49.35 FOLLOW CITIUS MAG ▶ Subscribe to the podcast: https://apple.co/3Byp72I ▶ On Twitter: http://twitter.com/CitiusMag ▶ On Instagram: http://instagram.com/citiusmag ▶ On Facebook: http://facebook.com/citiusmag ▶ Support us on Patreon: https://patreon.com/citiusmag ▶ On our website: http://citiusmag.com For other inquiries, contact us: chris@citiusmag.com Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, and subscribe!
