Jamaica To Host Grand Slam Track's First Meet In April 2025 + Interview with Rushell Clayton 🇯🇲
Grand Slam Track has confirmed Kingston, Jamaica will be one of the four cities that will host one of the weekend Slams in the professional track league’s inaugural season in 2025. The Slam will be held at the National Stadium at Independence Park on April 4th, 5th and 6th.
While in Los Angeles for the Grand Slam Track Racer Summit, we spoke with two-time World Championship medalist Rushell Clayton about the island hosting a major professional meet and reflections on her 2024 campaign. This year, she ran personal bests of 51.81 for 400m and 52.51 for the 400m hurdles this season. She won two Diamond League series meets and captured the Jamaican 400m hurdles national title. She was fifth in the 400m hurdles Olympic final in Paris. She is a two-time World Championship bronze medalist in the 400m hurdles from 2019 and 2023.
She is one of three Racers contracted for the league's inaugural season.
