Sit & Kick
SitandKick
If you are unfamiliar with the Millrose Games, it can be best described as the Indoor "Super Bowl" for Track & Field. The best of the best, most prestigious, and most anticipated are safe descriptions of this event. It was once held in Madison Square Garden and has found its home in the historic New York Armory. This year's event will be literally for the record books as owner/host of the podcast Josh Kerr goes after a World Record!
The 2024 Milrose Games is shaping up to be one of the best in history as multiple world records will be attempted. Josh Kerr is in the two-mile, and Yared Nuguse is in the one-mile. The day will be full of nonstop action, ultimately allowing this preview to be an hour long. This episode of Sit & Kick covers this weekend's meet, events, and athletes in play. The two hosts, Erik Sowinksi and David Ribich draft their teams and pick their favorites ahead of the most anticipated indoor track and field weekend. This is the first real weekend of Track & Field, where Olympic Champion hopefuls begin to line up against one another to kick off their season.

Simone Plourde may be new to the professional scene, but how she races and handles everything running would make you think she has been in the sport for decades.
Simone Plourde rose to recognition quickly in the NCAA while at the University of Utah. She finished 4th in the 3000m at NCAA Indoors, Pac-12 champion over 1500m, and earned All-American honors in the outdoor 5000m. It wasn't a perfect final year for the NCAA, but it was a perfect year for her to transition into the professional ranks, signing with Nike and UAC.
Her summer consisted of a podium finish at the Canadian Championships and representing Team Canada in Budapest at the World Championships. Even after the long year, she lowered her 1500m PR to 4:06.
Simone is well-spoken and articulate in how she talks about running, but not in the way you might think. She is a refreshing listen and we are sure her mindset and monologues will make you a fan of hers ahead of the Paris 2024.
Topics of the Episode include:
- Introduction to running and NCAA system/transfering Universities
- Decision to leave NCAA early
- Exceeding all expectations in 2023
- First World Championship experience
- Nike/UAC
- Fan Submitted
- BanterBowl
Disclaimer: Audio quality is lower than in previous episodes as Dave forgot his microphone cord and headphones but ordered a new set that will be ready for the next episode. Enjoy!
Welcome back to the better host, Josh Kerr!
Enjoy the return of Josh in the host seat, or more like a hot seat, as he comes out swinging in the most banterish way possible. Josh is not shy to speak his mind, but this is the most authentic podcast he has had in months: In-depth analysis of the SD Half Marathon run of 61:51, how training is leading into a world record attempt, and all the Ins & Outs of 2024.
When he and Dave get behind the mic, banter, and laughs will be had. Also, candid conversations and fan-submitted questions will be answered honestly and in-depth.
This episode bounces around from conversations like training for the "downhill" half marathon, executing a race plan, off-seasons, how to deal with goal setting and burnout, focuses for 2024 & more.

Isaiah Harris is not only a fan favorite for podcast guests but also one of our favorites for the 2024 Olympic team. Zay has shown that experience is everything in the 800m, and he has what it takes to compete for the 2024 Olympic Team. In this episode, expect some high-quality banter and deep-dive conversations as two friends tackle various topics like professionals. DISCLAIMER: This video and audio have been edited to eliminate a few minutes where Isaiah's microphone was not picking up sound. With that said, the 3-minute opening dialogue by Dave is due to that edit.
In a minimally edited episode, Your Host David Ribich and Craig Engels have a candid discussion of everything and anything involving Track & Field, while spicing in a bit of life updates along the way. Craig Engels is a household name in the sport and most definitely a fan favorite. Engels is a 1500m US Champion, World Finalist, and Olympic contender for 2024. If you're looking for an athlete to follow for the upcoming year, look no further than Mr. Craig "Your Moms Favorite Runner" Engels. Next Weeks Guest: Isaiah Harris
Cheers!
In classic Sit & Kick fashion, the podcast returned with the most talked about duo in the NCAA. Nico Young & Drew Bosley! The pair of NAU Lumberjacks join the show after a busy few weeks of racing. The pair finished 5th & 6th individually at the NCAA Cross Country Championships (leading their team to a 2nd place finish) and then two weeks later, they ran the best 3k/5k double on the same day, ever?
Each of them posted marks under 7:45 for 3000m and then a few hours later ran sub 13:30 for 5000m
The return episode of S&K covered a few podcast updates. Then it transitioned to deep diving NAU, the professional scene of Flagstaff, and Coach Mike Smith's mentality that he bestows upon his athletes for racing. From there, the podcast dived into the ever-famous banter bowl.
Enjoy this hour-long episode, it is good to be back! Rate 5-star wherever you listen!!!
We've lost track of the season... so welcome to SEASON 6

The title of this episode is all the description you need to click play and kick back. However, if you still need convincing, this episode is the most in-depth Josh Kerr has gone in his build-up to the World Championships in Budapest, where he went on to win his first world title over 1500m. If you have listened to this podcast through the years you know David and Josh operate in a candid format. The episodes are less of an interview and more of a conversation between friends. This episode just so happens to be a very candid convo about rivals in Budapest, Josh's life and diet structure leading into the championships, a year's worth of races, and more. Enjoy this episode after the biggest win of Josh's career (so far).
JOSH KERR YOUR 2023 WORLD CHAMPION

we appreciate all the messages and DMs for this episode. We believe Sit & Kick is a very young podcast and we hope to grow it for years to come. Thank you everyone! Please rate us 5 stars wherever you listen!
The past eight weeks have been full of talkable topics from Dave getting engaged to Josh getting a bit enraged at people boasting their opinions on athletes. A full circle of conversations beginning with the NCAA Division DII Record falling to Christian Noble this past weekend and ending with a no-skin-the-game discussion on the 4xMile relay banter. Between the two topics were a variety of great chat deep diving Daves experience in Ireland and both hosts prepping for a blistering 5k on May 6th.
This is the first episode back after an eight week mid-season break. As your hosts push closer to championship season they will still be releasing episodes frequently but the upmost importance and focus your hosts is to make their individual teams for Eugene 2022
Notable moments:
- Christian Nobles DII Record
- Transition from NCAA to Professional
- Dave Engaged & Josh's priority to make Dave hurt.
- Sound Running 5k
- A RELAY genuine conversation on "#badforthesport" Banter
